Radiocarbon dates from logs in the Caddo tomb at Mounds Plantation indicated a time between A.D. In 1983 a prehistoric cypress dugout canoe, 30 feet in length, was found beneath the bank of Red River only three miles north of Mounds; its radiocarbon dating is of the same century. The Boom or Bust Byway sits just north of Bossier, and it runs as far east as Vivian and as far west as Lake Claiborne State Park. The entire byway is approximately 137 miles long, and crisscrosses through four Parishes: Caddo, Bossier, Webster, and Claiborne. You don’t have to travel the entire thing if you don’t want to, of course.

Would Caddo And Bossier Parish Be Interested In Their Own Dating Sites
byRick EllisIf you spend any time watching late night cable television, you are probably familiar with FarmersOnly.com, a dating web site targeted to singles living in rural America. Despite the cheesy TV commercials, it's an idea that makes a lot of sense. A single person living in the country isn't just looking for a mate, they're looking for someone who will be happy living a more solitary life, so weeding out all the office workers and social butterflies ahead of time is pretty convenient.
But when it comes to making a love connection online, no segment of the population seems to be too narrow for their own dating web site. Purrsonals.com is 'where cat lovers meet and greet,' while Vampersonals is the leading dating site for Goth lovers. Are you a woman who enjoys a man with business in the front and a party in the back? Then you might enjoy MulletPassions.com. Some of the sites are self-explanatory (TallFriends.com and STDMatch.net) while some just seem like some very obscure attempt at dating humor (SeaCaptainDate.com).
But while even adults who are fond of diapers have their own place to connect, there's one segment that is woefully underrepresented when it comes to specialty dating sites: the fan of public television.

Where is our AmericanDatingExperience.com or AntiqueRoadshowLovers.net? Perhaps it's time for NewsHourPersonals.org or DowntonDating.com?
Fans of public television have their own take on the world. Obviously we value quality entertainment and in-depth news coverage. But we also have a fun side and it would be nice if there was a place where PBS-loving singles could highlight their charms to like-minded people.
Just imagine the ads you'd find:
'Looking for that special someone who loves Sherlock Holmes, wearing capes and isn't hurt if I accidentally whisper 'Ahh...Cumberbatch' in your ear at just the right time.'
Or how about this one?
'Me: an amateur science buff who can cook a great meal while discussing the migration patterns of penguins. You: a cute Nature fan who loves zoos, old houses and quiet nights watching a quirky British mystery. Extra points if you know the local music scene and answer 'In Review' when I mention 'Washington Week.'
Now granted, public fans can also be farmers or goth fans or men not afraid to rock a mullet. But there are times when it would nice to be part of a site that that reflects our intellectual and entertainment passions. A web site who helps the Nature lovers connect with the Nova enthusiasts.
